What Is VESA? What to Know For Mounting Your TV
Understanding VESA standards is the first step toward a secure and professional television wall installation.

What Exactly Is VESA?
VESA stands for the Video Electronics Standards Association. In the world of home theater, it refers to the standardized pattern of four threaded screw holes located on the back of your television. When manufacturers design TVs, they follow this international standard so that mounting hardware can be universally compatible across different brands and screen sizes.
Why Compatibility Matters
Before you buy a wall mount, you must identify your TV's VESA pattern. This is measured in millimeters, indicating the distance between the horizontal and vertical screw holes. For example, a 200x200 VESA pattern means the mounting holes are 200mm apart horizontally and 200mm apart vertically. If your mount does not match this specific measurement, the bolts will not align, potentially leaving you with an unsafe setup or requiring extra adapter plates. Always check the back of your TV or the manufacturer's manual before purchasing your mount to ensure a perfect, safe fit.
