How Far Should You Sit From a TV?
Optimal viewing distances for different screen sizes to improve your immersion and comfort.

The Golden Rule of Viewing Distance
Finding the perfect seating distance is about balancing immersion with clarity. If you sit too close, you will see the individual pixels of the screen; if you sit too far, you lose the immersive effect of high-definition content. A common rule of thumb for 4K TVs is to multiply the diagonal screen size by 1.2. For example, if you have a 65-inch TV, the optimal distance is roughly 78 inches, or 6.5 feet away.
Practical Adjustments for Your Room
While the math provides a great starting point, your room layout matters. In a dedicated home theater, you might want to sit closer to feel like you are at the cinema. In a multipurpose living room, you might prioritize a larger walkway and sit further back. If you have limited space and are forced to sit close, a 4K TV is much more forgiving than an older 1080p display because the pixel density is so much higher. Whatever you choose, ensure the center of the screen is at eye level when you are seated to prevent neck strain during long viewing sessions.
